Fifty-one percent (51%) of Democratic voters nationwide consider themselves politically liberal.
An analysis of ScottRasmussen.com surveys found that 38% of Democrats are politically moderate and 11% are conservative.
On the other side of the aisle, 73% of Republican voters consider themselves politically conservative. Twenty-one percent (21%) of the GOP base are moderate in their views and 7% liberal.
Most Independent voters (66%) see themselves as politically moderate.
Overall, among all voters, 41% see themselves as moderate, 33% say conservative, and 26% liberal.
During the month of August, ScottRasmussen.com interviewed 31,039 Registered Voters. This large sample allows for a more detailed analysis than typical surveys of approximately 1,000 voters each.
